Artist: Amon Tobin.

Taking inspiration from the title of the track as well as the music, we wanted to make a music video set in a simple graphical world of calculation and information processing.

The video was created for the Amon Tobin fan video project and has been selected to be part of a future Amon Tobin release.

amontobin.com
ninjatune.net

JamVee is the collaboration name of JimJam Graphics and XYZee Design, aka Kid Vector.

Artist: Phonat

A short experiment for dynamic shapes using the excellent Plexus plugin in After Effects. We took inspiration from the great chaotic nature of the Phonat track, Spliff Dub. POM POM!

phonat.net
aescripts.com/plexus

JamVee Skits are a ≈10-20 second piece to experiment with an idea or concept with the potential to become a more final piece.
Artist: Symbion Project

The aim of this music video was to tap in to the spatial and haunting quality of the track. The sea effect was created with the Psunami plugin for After Effects using expressions to link the camera movement.

Using a set of corruption presets developed within After Effects, this video is a simple remix of the great Lotus Flower video directed by Garth Jennings.

thekingoflimbs
radiohead

Artist: Walls

Created entirely in After Effects, the video uses simple geometric shapes to build up vibrant patterns that pulse and distort to the track. Individual elements of the music were used to directly influence many aspects of the video such as shape, colour and timing which all culminated towards an end result that compliments the mesmerising and haunting sounds of the track.

When I was approached by the band to make this video I was hooked on the hefty bass and the stomping beat. I wanted to make a video that captured the straight up dance aesthetic of the music but also slowly developed with subtle changes through out.

There was something about the track that made me want to play with the contrast of light reflecting and refracting through glass in a dark and moody room.

Music:
Posthuman
“Mobile Mast”
Taken from the album Syn Emergence on Balkan Vinyl

Video:
JimJam Graphics

posthumanmusic.com/

Tumble - Intro Video

In June 2010, a great being sent us a message.

Gifted with an unworldly sonic power and the ability to broadcast psychometric music purely through thought the great being, who we only know as Isaac Himself began transmitting the following message.

Some of science’s greatest minds are still undecided as to what the message precisely means, or indeed, how it even works.

myuzyk.net/

However, many recipients of the message, have described the experience as a form of enlightenment.

Luna - Music Video

Taking the logo design I wanted to create a simple and sharp animation that captured the energy of the Sumo lettering.
Using a kinetic text style animation, the brief was to bring the copy to life. Keeping in line with the brand’s aesthetic and ethos, the animation also had to help easily explain the process of how to use the company’s services.

eliteediting.com/

344s - Music Video

344s is a track off the beautiful Cadre Turf album by Regolith. I was really drawn in by the overall atmosphere of the track and found that there were lots of beautiful textures and nuances that became more apparent after repeat listening.

Playing with texture and depth, I wanted to have a somewhat experimental approach to making the video. I used a technique where I could create a sort of ‘pseudo depth’ much like a hologram to give the impression of things having depth but still existing on a flat plane. The movement and animation was manipulated by the audio itself.

More information on Regolith and their work can be found here:

regolith.bandcamp.com/

Keep Your Teeth Sharp - Music Video

With the song’s lyrics and driving, march-like beat, I felt the song resonated a feeling of defiance and possible anti-establishment. There were also many quirks in the music that I felt had a contrasting fun edge to them.

After a few listens I started to develop an idea of a marching army of unloved toys. A march set against an abstract background that is continually moving to elements of the track. I felt this was a nice starting point to set against the rather dark undertone and conclusion for the piece.

This was my first (but hopefully not my last) commission from Radar Music Video from my first ever treatment submission.

myspace.com/mrfoggisapopstar
radarmusicvideos.com/

E4 - Logo Sting

This is the promotional video for the the track Tam by the very talented LJ Kruzer.

Before working on this piece, I spent a lot of time listening to the track and album as I really wanted to immerse myself in the subtlety of the music and create a video that reflected my own emotional response.

Visual concepts developed as a response to repeat listening. I was then inspired to develop a new technique using expressions in After Effects. This technique allows me to create markers in the audio track which can influence pretty much any effect or property of the visuals.

There was an element of experimentation in what I was doing and although I was able to control, tweak and steer the piece, there was always an element of surprise. This became a really interesting process as I was able to let the visuals begin to take their own direction as they responded to the structure and nuances of the track.

‘Tam’ is taken from LJ Kruzer’s second album, ‘Manhood And Electronics’ released Summer 2009 on Uncharted Audio.
unchartedaudio.com/releases/unch020/

The Tam Variations, eight engaging experimental versions of Tam are available for free download as 128kbps mp3s and name your price for higher quality formats from…
bit.ly/ljk-tamv.

unchartedaudio.com
ljkruzer.co.uk
audio.ljkruzer.co.uk/

L&Q - Brand Video

This is the second half of a video I created in conjunction with the design agency underscore.

The video was to celebrate the launch of the brand for the company L&Q. The emphasis of the video was to communicate the new brand values and at the same time show how the new branding works in context with the business.

underscore.co.uk/

lqgroup.org.uk/

Arpahpla - Live Visuals
